Here Comes the Sun

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July. I know the weather wasn't great around here, but we were fortunate enough to be on vacation all week, and enjoyed plenty of sunshine.

The title of this entry is a tribute to Kayla's favorite song right now. We sing it when the sun gets in our eyes on bike rides, but she'd never heard the actual Beatles' song until last weekend. If only I would have had my camera ready to capture her expression when the song first caught her attention. She was amazed and so excited. She then requested it each time we went out on the boat.

Daddy and Kayla's trademark move!

This week was great for relaxing, and a good opportunity for Kayla to improve her swimming skills. By the end of the week, she was running and jumping off of the pier, leaving Daddy scrambling to get in after her.

Here are some shots of the "slip and slide" Aaron created for Kayla. It appeared to be great fun, and Aaron even tried it out.

Kayla tried fishing for the first time and loved it! I'm sure it helped that her papaw was able to catch several fish in a very short amount of time. She never had to be patient, which was helpful.

Though she wouldn't grab one, Kayla was eager for the cricket to get on the hook. And much to my dismay, wanted to carry around their basket and stick them in your face.
